Exporting to Microsoft Project

You can export projects, versions and issues displayed in WBS Gantt-Chart as XML files that are readable in Microsoft Project by clicking DataMS Project export on the operations bar.

The Microsoft Project field for each Jira field is shown in the table below.

Assignee 

Resource name
  • Makes the assignee's username and workload as the output.
  • If the workload is 0, Microsoft Project specifies the duration of the task as 0 days as a default. Therefore tasks with no milestones and 0% workload are exported with a 1% workload.
  • If square brackets are used for the full name of the assignee, convert to parentheses. In Microsoft Project, you cannot use square brackets for resource names.

However, in Microsoft Project, the % completion rate of a summary task is automatically calculated including accumulated  % completion of child tasks as well. Therefore the value shown may differ from % done in WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira.
