The Ricksoft team is proud to announce the release of Version 9.4 of WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira.
We have improved compatibility with Microsoft Project and enhanced interoperability.
Previous versions of WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira had a function enabling users to sort the order in which issues were displayed using arbitrary column values. For this release, in addition to this existing sort capability, we have added a function that enables you to move issues to arbitrary positions, just as you can with Microsoft Project. You can change the position of an issue up or down by using drag and drop, the edit menu, or keyboard shortcuts.

Also, we have incorporated a new function that enables you to easily implement hierarchy relationships with a single action. By selecting "Issue" and clicking "Indent," or by pressing Alt + → on the keyboard, you can convert an issue to make it the child of the issue displayed just above it. "Outdent" allows you to perform this operation in reverse, and to cancel an existing parent-child relationship.
In addition, the function to create hierarchy relationships by drag and dropping issues that were available in WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira up to Versions 9.3 can no longer be used for stand-alone issues (issues with no attached child issues). However, for those issues that have child issues attached, you can continue to use this function as before.
For managing hierarchy relationships for stand-alone issues, use the sort function and “Indent”/”Outdent” from now on.
We have integrated the functions of MS Project importer for Jira which were previously provided as a separate add-on to WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira.
You can now import issues logged in Microsoft Project files (extension: .mpp) as Jira issues. You can also bring in values from different fields and hierarchy/dependency relationships according to the configuration settings in WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira.
The import function can be accessed via the “Data” button on the operations bar.
To enhance interoperability with Microsoft Project, we have also added a function that allows you to export xml files that can be read in Project. You can open and edit these exported xml files in Project.
Previously Excel export included a beta function that had not been available before (macOS, beta). In the latest release, we have updated this as an official version.
The original Excel export is now a legacy version, so we recommend that you use the new export function in future.
We have added a setting that enables status categories set by a Jira administrator to be used as conditions for warning alerts. The setup for Jira's status categories and warning alerts configuration is as follows:
Setup for configuring warning alerts | |||
---|---|---|---|
Started | Resolved | ||
Jira status categories | To Do | ||
In progress | |||
Done |
As well as adding new functions in this release, we have also changed the menu layout of the operations bar. We have divided what was previously categorized under “Tools” into “Edit” and “Display.”
As well as this, if you want to start issue template mode you now go to the cog symbol at the upper right of the screen. This will enable you to switch modes between regular and issue template mode.
Previously in WBS, if data was not fully loaded on the client side, there was a delay and data was read from the server in hierarchical order. This is no longer the case. We have made a change so that all issue data is shown whenever the WBS / Gantt chart screens are displayed.
Previously the auto-calculated progress rate showed the wrong result when the progress rate was edited before WBS was fully loaded. We have now fixed this.
We have fixed the problem whereby a 1% error was occurring in the progress rate before and after reloading because of decimal point values in the progress rate.
We have fixed the problem of the blank line space that appeared at the bottom of the Gantt chart whenever you hovered your mouse over the screen. We have also fixed the one-line gap that appeared on the WBS side when scrolling.
Previously the display screen collapsed if you double-clicked the bar separating the WBS and Gantt chart displays. We have now fixed this bug.
Previously, if you changed the default name for a parent-child issue link type, this created a new issue link type at a set point in time.
Previously, an error sometimes occurred when retrieving the display history of a Gantt. This bug is now fixed.
Previously, depending on the database settings, errors occurred when installing a database. This bug is now fixed.
We would like to thank Valiantys, France, for their help with the multilingual localization for this release.
