New feature

Display a progress line to see the status of your project

We have added a function enabling you to check the progress of a project by displaying a zig-zag progress line. Taking the date on which you view a project’s status as the start point, a progress line is drawn linking the progress points in each Gantt bar.

You can switch between “Display” or “Hide” at any time from the View menu.

What is a progress line?

A progress line is a line connecting the progress points of each issue with reference to a specific point in time. If progress is behind the plan, the progress line moves to the left of the reference point; if progress is ahead of plan, the line moves to the right of the reference point. Displaying the progress line gives you a snapshot on a single date of the progress status of all issues together.

※ Progress lines in WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira are based on the date of viewing.

Improvement

You can now create consecutive versions in WBS

We have updated WBG Gantt-Chart for Jira so that version names are not duplicated in error when versions are created in WBS. This enables versions to be created on a consecutive basis. If “<Project Name> Version” is the initial value for a version name, and if this is used in an existing version, a version with this name followed by a number in parentheses is created: for example “<Project Name> Version (2)” or “<Project Name> Version (3).”

Bug fixes

When an issue is created from an issue template, the issue always has the same due date as in the template

Previously, when an issue was created using an issue template, it would always use the date set in the template as its due date. This bug has now been fixed.

Tip: Issue Template

Registering issues that are used on a repeated basis as issue templates makes it easier to recreate them in future. Mastering issue templates helps you become a more efficient project manager. For more details on issue templates, see "Creating an issue from an issue template" in Creating, copying, or deleting an issue in the WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira documentation.

The progress rate shown on a Gantt bar differs from the actual progress rate

Previously, there was a bug whereby the Gantt bar was sometimes the wrong length, and the left or right of the Gantt bar accidentally showed an incorrect progress rate. This bug has now been fixed.

The border between the resources view and WBS-Gantt chart is not shown in macOS

Previously, there was a bug whereby the borderline separating the resources view and WBS Gantt-Chart in multiple browsers was not displayed when using macOS. This bug has now been fixed. This also means that the height of the resources view can be adjusted by dragging.

The tooltip does not move from its initial position when dragging a Gantt bar

Previously, there was a bug whereby the tooltip displayed when dragging a Gantt bar did not move from its initial position. This bug has now been fixed.

Deleting an issue from the right-click menu sometimes makes a different issue disappear as well

Previously, when an issue was deleted, another unrelated issue that had not been selected for deletion would also disappear in the same operation (it would not be deleted but it would temporarily disappear from the screen). This bug has now been fixed.

The due date can be edited by dragging the icon when the critical path is displayed

Previously, there was a bug whereby the due date could be still be edited by dragging the icon even when data was locked by displaying the critical path.

Other

Changes in respect of deprecated features

In WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira 9.7, we introduced "deprecated features" as "to abolish functions in the future." However, we withdraw this direction. We’ve received a number of requests from users to leave their functionality in place, so we’ll update these with add-ons enabling the continued use of these features.

Along with this modification, we’re making the following changes in WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira 9.8.

  • The term "deprecated feature” has been changed to "feature".
  • When WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira 9.8 is upgraded or installed for the first time, all "deprecated features” will be enabled.

Notice

We have discontinued the development of MS Project importer for Jira, an add-on originally provided as an auxiliary feature for WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira. Since the release of WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira 9.4, users have been able to import tasks directly from MS Project into Jira just with WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira. Please be aware that future releases of additional features or versions of Jira may not be compatible with MS Project importer for Jira.

Please see the following page for details.
